Alumni of the year 2020

Kuleen D. Shah, A'05

Kuleen Shah was born and raised in Tampa, FL. Giving back to his community is second to none. He is a part of numerous organizations and charity boards to ensure his impact is felt throughout the Tampa Bay community and beyond. Some of the organizations he is a part of include: Derrick Brooks Celebrity Classic, Mike Alstott Family Foundation, Imagination Gala Host Committee to support the Glazers Children's Museum, Mike Evans Family Foundation, the DeBartolo Family Foundation All Star Charity Gala, Bayshore Christian School’s Annual Fund and Spring Gala and so many more. He also has been involved with the Associate Board of Ambassadors for the American Cancer Society- Real Men Wear Pink for 2 years, and last year raised over $2,500. In 2017 he was a campaign manager for Anthony Becht who is a former Tight End for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He ran for Man of the year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Suncoast Tampa Chapter and Kuleen helped raise $86,391. Since then, he has been on the Leadership Team for the Man & Woman of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. His love of helping people is evident.
As unusual and reflective as 2020 has been, Kuleen did not take this year as a pause. He continued charging forward. During the Spring, he partnered up with WeSeeU Inc, the Dungy Family Foundation, and Henry "Shake" Washington to go into Title 1 Schools in Hillsborough County to provide books, reading materials, and learning packages to keep kids busy during this difficult time. He also spearheaded community efforts to provide school workers, cafeteria workers, and front line healthcare workers with meals. He was instrumental in providing over 1,300 meals, and also donated over 1,300 materials for local school children in Tampa. This was incredible! Kuleen visited our local TGH with along with some Bayshore Christian School Campers. Kuleen secured food donations and Camp Bayshore provided over 50 "thank you" cards for the Nursing and Medical staff.

Every organization Kuleen has been a part of has asked for his continued participation due to his kind and generous heart. His passion for community service and giving back has inspired others to give back. His recent work with Bayshore Christian School aided in the funding of a $72,000 iPad initiative to ensure our students were equipped with the necessary tools during these uncertain times. He wanted to ensure the students had the same opportunities he did as a student at BCS. Tampa is always a better place when our very own see the good and choose to be a part of it.

Congratulations to our Alumni of The Year!
