Bayshore Christian School is a private, evangelical, non-denomination Christian school serving students PK2-12th grade. We are located in the heart of South Tampa, close to the Selmon Expressway and MacDill Air Force Base with easy access to the Brandon/Riverview area and St. Petersburg. BCS is widely recognized for its strong academics and Christ-centered environment. Staff & Seasonal Positions

Summer Camp Counselor - Seasonal


We are seeking qualified and dedicated Christian women and men that wish to work at Camp Bayshore this Summer and are 18 years or older. 

Camp Bayshore, a ministry of Bayshore Christian School, serves children ages 3 to rising 6th grade in South Tampa. Our campers learn through hands on experiences as our staff challenges them in fun and exciting ways. Campers enjoy structured activities and free play, off-campus field trips, shows, music, art, science projects, service projects, faith development, and more!

Camp Counselor's responsibilities:

  • Available to work: May 30 - July 28, 2023
  • Supervising and engaging in both indoor and outdoor activities with students aged 3-12 years of age.
  • Applicants must be 18 years and older.
  • Applicants must complete an online staff application.
  • Applicants must take a drug test and a have fingerprinting completed upon hire.

Job Type: Full-time; Seasonal Summer

Salary: $11.00 - $14.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shift

Education:  High school or equivalent (Required)

Security Guard

BCS is seeking passionate candidates for a full-time security guard.

Direct Supervision:   Head of School

Scope of Work:   Full Time, Twelve-Month Contract

School Security Guard Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Inspect and patrol premises regularly
  • Monitor property entrance
  • Authorize entrance of people and vehicle
  • Report any suspicious behavior and happenings
  • Monitor surveillance camera
  • Respond to alarms and react promptly
  • Assist people in need
  • Submit a report of daily surveillance activity
  • Submit a report of every suspicious action
  • Maintain security reports, logs, and report
  • Read and respond to email communication
  • Attend and complete all staff development training as required by state law

 

School Security Guard Skills and Qualification:

  • A high school diploma is required
  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar field
  • Punctual, reliable and must have strong communication skill
  • Strong verbal and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail, prioritization skill, and time management
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude
  • Understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
  • Some experience with report writing
  • Outstanding surveillance and observation skills
  • Experience in surveillance system
  • Motivational and communication skill
  • Registered as a security officer
  • Team player and good time management skills

After School Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise preschool, elementary, or middle division students in the classroom and on the playground. Facilitate learning activities to promote social, emotional, academic, and lifelong skills.
  • Assist in keeping the classroom neat, organized, and attractive.

  • Hours 2:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday- Friday

Preschool Classroom Aide


BCS is the premier private Christian school in the greater Tampa Bay area and offers a comprehensive college preparatory program including leadership development, academics, athletics, and the arts for students two years old through 12th grade. We are accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and AdvancED.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist lead teacher in creating and facilitating an environment for teaching academic and lifelong skills.
  • Assist in keeping the classroom neat, organized, and attractive.
  • Assist in teaching children language and social skills.
  • Physically help students with toileting needs.
  • Endorse our Christian education core values found on our website.

  • Commitment to earn the DCF 45 hours of introductory training (reimbursement provided for cost of training)

Full-Time Maintenance

Van/Bus Drivers
 
We require a CDL with Passenger Endorsement in order to drive the school bus. Please complete a staff application and direct any questions to Head of School, Melanie Humenansky. 
Substitute Teacher Positions
 
We have a general need for qualified substitute teachers for all grade levels. Once approved, we keep these applications on file with substitute positions filled on an as-needed basis.
