Senior Spotlight: Joelle Gamble
The label of “lifer” for a Bayshore Christian School student is a special one. Our next senior is the epitome of that term. Joelle Gamble is the second student in school history to attend K2 through 12th grade. Her sister, Joanna, graduated in 2016. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Spanish Honor Society. Last year, she won the American Legion Student of the Year Award.
Her favorite classes were Old Testament and Geography, and she credits Mrs. Kemp as her all-time favorite teacher at BCS. “It’s like I never left her sixth-grade class.”
Mrs. Kemp is proud to know Joelle. “Despite Joelle’s reserved nature, there is an unmistakable spark in her eyes, hinting at a wealth of thoughts and emotions waiting to be shared. In one-on-one conversations, she would open up, revealing a world of insight, creativity, and passion. It was evident that beneath the surface, Joelle harbors a treasure trove of ideas and perspectives waiting to be unleashed. Her quiet demeanor belies a powerful intellect and a rich inner world that leaves a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to engage with her.”
As a member of the mission team throughout high school, her first mission trip to Camp Dovewood and this year’s trip to Jamaica are cherished memories.
Joelle will attend college for Music Business. She would like to work her way into a job at Republic Records and then start her own record label one day.
She brings a tranquil, observant, and level-headed presence in and out of the classroom and within conversations with her peers. This is seen and heard in her words of wisdom for current and future students.
“You may not always be the best but do your best. When you think no one is looking, you will be noticed for just being you. Do not change who you are and what you believe to fit in. Just trust in God, and He’ll lead you down the right path.”
After 16 years at Bayshore Christian, being a Faith Warrior is what she knows, and it is what she will miss most after graduation.
“I’ll miss the familiarity. I’ve been going here for so long that life without it seems almost foreign.”
