Meet Our Administration

A Note From our Principal

BCS Friends and Families,

I would like to take a moment to welcome each of our families to the 2018—2019 school year. We are excited to welcome over 30 new students and their families to the “Faith Warrior” family. Bayshore is a great place to be a “Scholar, Leader, and Faith Warrior” and as stated in our verse for the year, Matthew 5:16, a great place to “shine!”

Matthew 5:16 - In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

The faculty and staff at Bayshore Christian School have had a busy summer preparing for the 2018—2019 school year. With the support from the parent, teacher, and Faith Warrior organization, along with funding from the 2018 spring gala, we were able to make many necessary improvements on campus: the Red Top received 8 new benches and 8 new trash cans, a new fence was added to the south side of the campus, classrooms were painted, floors were professionally refinished, ceiling tiles were updated, and new curricula was purchased for various subjects across all divisions.

Mark your calendar, as we hope you will join us for our annual “Campus Beautification Day” on Saturday, August 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is going to be a busy day filled with hands-on projects fit for our youngest to oldest students and their families. We encourage all of our families to participate in the excitement of preparing the campus for a new year. According to a research article funded by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement titled “Parent Involvement in Education,”—parents play vital role in the success of our students. In other words, this research series confirms what we at Bayshore have always held true: “Research overwhelmingly demonstrates that parent involvement in children's learning and their learning environment is positively related to achievement.” Therefore, we encourage all of our families to participate in the excitement of preparing the campus for a new year.

We are also excited to host Open Campus for all students and families on Monday, August 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a food truck on campus to help with your dinner plans. During this time all students will have the opportunity to visit their classrooms and introduce themselves to homeroom teachers. We strongly recommend all students attend, especially our middle division students who will have a chance to meet Mr. Myers our new math and science teacher, as well as Mrs. Sullivan, who has moved from lower division to middle division. Stop by the media center to say hello to Mrs. Kemp, our media specialist, and if you head upstairs, you will find Mrs. Conley as our new social studies teacher. We also welcome our upper division students to Open Campus for a chance to visit the classroom, walk their schedules and visit our college counselor, Mrs. Stenholm.

Our lower division students and families will have the opportunity to meet the teacher and bring in school supplies. In addition, we will have a follow up information night on Thursday, August 16 to address unanswered questions and review efficient homework strategies. Additionally, there will no longer be the need for students in 4th—12th grades to pick up their Chromebook computers, as these will be distributed in homerooms once parents have had an opportunity to sign an electronic contract.

In addition, new families will have a specified time to gather for frequently asked questions and review policies and procedures. Please refer to our website for updated times and information.

We look forward to working with each of you this school year and could not think of a better place to start other than the “Campus Beautification Day” on Saturday, August 4 and/or greeting each of you on Monday, August 6 for Open Campus.
