On May 4, Head of School, Herman Valdes, was interviewed on WTBN by talk show host, Bill Bunkley. Mr. Valdes had this wonderful opportunity to share Bayshore with the Tampa Bay Christian community. Technology Update

Technology Tidbits...

Recent fund raisers have raised enough money to: update computer hardware in library, update computer software in the school wide computer lab, set up two interactive classrooms (one in the lower school and one in the upper school) as test models for future technology upgrades.
Recent Grant proposal to the ING Corporation (includes the outline of future technology)
Three ELMO opaque projectors have arrived and are being used primarily in our Math and Science classrooms, but are available for all classrooms.
A generous parent is donating computer hardware which will facilitate a computer lab for K2-K5.

Chili-Cha-Cha A Success

If you missed the Open House/Chili-Cha-Cha/Baked Potato Dinner last Friday, Jan. 22, you'll have to wait til next year! Fifteen chili cooks entered their best pots of brew, and 86 votes were cast. In a tight race, the people's choice winners were:

1st Place - Jim Fisher

2nd Place - Jim Vath

and 3rd Place - PJ Steele.
Congratulations!

The Open House was a success, and the gymnasium was packed full for our game against Seffner. It was a great night for Bayshore families and our guests! Thanks to all for their support and hard work!

Human Rights Awards Celebration

Congratulations to Karla Cornejo for being awarded Second Place in the 36th Annual Human Rights Essay competition. Karla was honored at the Awards Breakfast on December 11 .Also, four of the seven students who received “Honorable Mention” were from Bayshore: Gabrielle Fernandez, Amanda Mirabella, Garrett Stenholm, and Justin Vandergrift. Middle School Coin Drive

Last week Middle School students were enthusiastically giving away their money! - - Sound strange? - - Well it was all for the cause of the Middle School Coin Drive! The middle school classes were competing to see who had the most NET cash in the giant water bottles that were on display last week..."coins" were valued "positive" and "paper money" was valued "negative"...so if you were an 8th grader, you might put $5 bills into the 6th and 7th grade bottles and all your coins into 8th grade's bottle... got it?

CONGRATULATIONS MIDDLE SCHOOL! YOU RAISED $1,246.79!

1^ST PLACE: 7^TH GRADE (50%)

2^ND PLACE: 8^TH GRADE (20%)

3^RD PLACE: 6^TH GRADE (15%)

AND 15% WILL BE DONATED TO THE PHILIPPINE MISSION FUND!

Bayshore Artists Exhibit art work at HCC in the

Ninth Annual Fine Arts Competition Showcasing High School Art Students.

Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry Campus Art Gallery is showcasing student artists from Hillsborough County High Schools. The fine arts competition includes paintings, sculptures, craft media, photography and printmaking.
The exhibit is open April 3^rd –April 30^th, 2009
