Bayshore Christian School (BCS) Media Center
Our media center is a space of discovery and inquiry for our students. It is a place where students can explore, collaborate, educate, and inspire each other. We have a collection of materials that will help enrich and support our curriculum and meet the individual educational and recreational needs of our students.
Our preschool students in K2, K3, and K4 experience the BCS Media Center once a week for a special story time and various projects related to the stories. Preschoolers interact with the media specialist and each other as they explore books and stories.
Our K5 through fourth grade students’ weekly trips to the media center are packed full with dramatic readings, Makerspace and computer activities and projects designed to bring reading to life. Lower division students are able to check out books every week with an average circulation of over 450 books per month.
Our middle and high school students utilize the media center for a variety of activities including research and collaborative learning. Readings, events and classes also happen in the media center. Middle school students have a Makerspace elective that meets in the media center for collaboration on a variety of student-initiated projects.
Throughout the year, the BCS Media Center hosts Scholastic Books Fairs, author visits, poetry readings, speech contests, parties, and other sponsored events.
